The work of righteousness shall be peace. --Isaiah 32:17
It is a crisp Friday (43°F) morning. There is nothing in the sky but the left-over full moon, what may or may not be clouds at the edge of the horizon, and, of course, the daily fly over of hundreds of birds soundlessly winging to the east north east. There is no breeze to kiss the cheek or move even the yellow cottonwood leaves. Color intensifies in the trees along the street and in the backyard. A maple has curled its leaves and gone silver. A street over, in front of Bruno's house, oak red and an unknown orange lurk above the roofs. The barely moving willow is still green. Puck barks good morning to the world in general but Bruno is not out so there is no answer. Bird song can be heard but I see no flight or movement. As it gets later there are fewer car door slams and motors revving. I stand at the open backdoor breathing in the steam of sweetened coffee...aroma for the nose and warmth for the sinuses. One more gulp – of creamy decaf and morning air, and then we'll talk.
Hope your weekend is ALIVE, ePistliers
