It is a wet Friday morning. Moisture seems piled in the air, sitting atop moisture in the ground, in the grass, everywhere. There is no birdsong, no wind whipped branches, and very little light. 46°F temperature requires a jacket and a hat, but I have not dug mine out of packing. Puck pretends not to notice the mist and we walk almost normally except, there are neither rabbits nor squirrels to threaten or chase. The flock of dozens of birds flies over headed east, silently. The noise is cars slamming doors and gunning motors...typical morning sounds. When we come in Puck shakes and then dries himself on the carpet, scooting in long, sweeping glides across the dry fabric. Now the room smells of brewing coffee and wet dog. I doctor up my cup with sweetener and milk and take my first, long, slow, delicious drink. Now I sit at my computer, look out at the water dripping past my window and writing to you. Great morning, so far.
Hope your weekend becomes a classic, ePistlers.
