It is a beautiful Friday morning. There is not a single interruption in the azure sky and the 75°F temperature is very pleasant. The soundtrack has taken on a definite summer sound with the addition of air conditioners grinding on and off and on again. The varied birdsong, cars driving to and fro, Puck yapping at the squirrel are still there too. I stand by the fence in one of the few muddy spots left by long gone rain. A young cardinal takes a few bites from the feeder and notices he is alone. Looking around, cautiously and then frantically, he seeks the shelter of mulberry leaves. Everything is so green – layers, levels, degrees – lime, moss, forest, kelly... I will lift mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. (Ps 121) dotted here and there with color – red and orange flowers. It is a beautiful world, isn't it? But Puck has still not convinced the squirrel to move on and coffee is calling me so we quit this lovely scene and go indoors. The aroma of brewing coffee is welcome and I fix myself a hot cup of brown unleaded ambition and sit down at my working computer. Sigh. I love making the ePistle, but this is always my very favorite part … hello, sweetie.
Here's hoping your weekend includes this ePistle, ePistliers.
Since I didn't have internet while I was writing this, I rummaged through old epistles and it was fun. It was fun to reread the jokes and quotes. But I having actual withdrawal symptoms and I'm glad I'm back on line.

Almanac: Global Forgiveness Day and Tell the Truth Day (lEgal ePistle, 7/5/13) It is Friday, July 7, 2017. The moon should be full around this time. **The weirdest... I thought I had my file for July 7th – holidays, etc. - on my computer so that I could do the almanac for real. However when I pulled the 7/7 file the items were for August 7th – so I don't even have the stuff I don't usually have to look up. ~~From time to time in my life I tried to give or sell or abandon stuff and get back to just a few basic items, to keep myself loose and able to travel light through life. Now, this seems to be happening on a cyber level. I never thought of files and internet as “stuff” because, you know, it's only a few blips of electricity. However...

Conversation with Mother: We were at church, taking some glasses from the upstairs kitchen to the downstairs kitchen. We both have our hands full, so I can't hold her arm and pull her along a little. She is behind me. We head for the elevator. Winnie Cook is already in the elevator. I head over there, saying to Mother "Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!" While I am urging her to hurry, of course, she doesn't quite know what we are going to do, and so she goes slower and slower. I throw my body against the door to keep it from closing before she gets there. FINALLY she gets into this very unfamiliar little box. On the way down, I ask her, "Do you know what 'hurry' means?" "No," she says. Winnie and I laugh as we descend. Love, Marilyn From the self published book, Out of the Mouth of Babe compiled and edited by Marilyn & Susie Uppman, 2012 (ePistle fLambe, 7/13/12)
