It is a windy (23 mph) Friday morning. The sound of the wind through trees and grass and browning mums fills the air and the ear with a roar of emptiness and cold. Birds are flying high above the earth but they make no sound. Even the motors of cars off to start their work day seem muted in the wind. The sky if nearly full of clouds that might be threatening if they were not in such a hurry to be somewhere east of here. The water splashing down the fountain is moved in the breeze to spray and mist. Apparently the only thing not affected by the wind is Puppy Pax who wants to play with Puck, who has duties like warning off students riding their bikes to school, just hasn't the time. Pax executes a cross between a howl and a bark – a hork, perhaps, or a browl – which he is using in Puck's face. The wind has begun to blow the cold (actually only 50°F) into my fingers and I'm sure I can taste coffee freshly brewed calling to me so we retreat to the warmth of our rooms and the smell of ambition brewing. As I sip the cream tartness letting the steam fill my head, I am glad to have a home on such a morning, and gladder still to have a friend like you to share it with.
Hope your weekend catches the Party Wave, ePistliers.
