It is a quiet Friday morning. The sky is clear and very pale blue. The sun is just rising and trying to paint it bluer. A very slight breeze stirs a few leaves at ground level, but the tops of the tall trees are still still. The trees are stately and beginning to show their fall colors, although green is still prominent. No wind moves the leaves or branches. From this window at Jo's I see a Hydrangea bush whose fat flowers have all turned brown but whose leaves are still variegated and fresh. A utility pole dominates the left side of the window pictures (Windows reminded Michael Valentine of the living art on Mars – Stranger in a Strange Land). It is solid and a brown weathered to gray. Beyond that is Hickory street and cars and houses. All quiet and unmoving at 9 am. Puck has been out. He investigated the backyard; it has so many new smells. Now he is resting by my chair. I am sipping half-caf, creamy and sweet – and writing to you. Wow, what a morning.

Hope your weekend is tasty and sweet, ePistliers, but with a kick.
