Defending peace is the duty of all. --Fidel Castro

It is a cloudy Friday morning. The sky is nearly a solid gray without very few highlights and very few dark patches. 69°F is a fine temperature for walking on damp sidewalks and, apparently, smelling every pheromone the rain washed onto the street. Wet is the only scent; which evaporates into the nose. It certainly is not wafting on the air. No wind or breeze comes along to move the ocean of green or the dots of color in its waves. Birdsong graces the ear; birds celebrating their survival through last night's thunderstorm and the coming again of light and calm. Now and then a motor can be heard finding its way to the driver's work or to some other errand. Puck and I walk along, only one dog is out in the yard but a conversation of barks temporarily drowns out the chirping. And we return home to the smell of fresh brewed coffee. And so I sit, sipping sweet, creamy bitterness and writing to you. How lucky is that?

Hope your weekend is the luckiest yet, ePistliers
