It
is a pleasant (44°F) but
foggy Friday morning. The cloud has deserted the skies and come down
to earth to commiserate with us and to lay a comforting arm around
our shoulders. The little wood across the street looks water logged
and rather like a Tim Burton movie set. From it comes the skreeing
of a single bird; perhaps she is telling the cloud to go home. It
is possible to see the light as it falls from the street lamp and is
caught by a million water drops, slowing it down so that we can see
it being light. The skreeing continues and now includes a second
chripy component. Puck does his business quickly and reluctantly and
returns to the bright indoors. I remain in the damp and savor the
feeling of aloneness that the fog fosters. I draw breaths of water
to cleanse my lungs and throat. It smells of water, of wells and
streams. But I return to the light and warmth of my rooms. My
palate, freshly cleansed by fog, enjoys that first, warm, creamy,
sweet sip of Moose Munch. Ahhhh, what a beautiful morning.
Hope
your weekend is a happiness marathon, ePistliers.
